Ever heard of Blink? Whether you have or have not, allow me tell you about how it has changed my viewing habits for the better…
Watching movies and television shows have always been my passion. I enjoy the feeling of immersion and the relaxation this wonderful activity gives.
I would normally collect a ton of DVDs and box sets of TV series then spend the wee hours of the morning every single day in front of my television screen for long stretches with speakers blaring and the lights turned off.
Unfortunately, working in the entertainment industry makes for some very erratic schedules. Some days (and also nights) aren’t as slow as others. There are times when I cannot catch live telecasts of certain shows because I’m on location doing tapings and shootings for my own shows.
As much as I’d like to upload a ton of movies and episodes to my iPhone so I can carry them along during work, I hate eating up significant storage space on my device.
Geez! What’s a movie/television freak gotta do to satisfy his viewing addiction? Back then, you’d just have to deal with it. Fortunately, nowadays… not anymore!
Thankfully, there is now an awesome solution to this particular problem!
Blink is a “video-on-demand” service that allows you to stream movies and television shows online instantly! That means you can watch your favorite TV series and movies (old and new) whenever, wherever and however you want it! You know what makes it extra sweet? You can access Blink using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or through your handy smartphone.
I recently signed up for Blink’s service and I’ve never looked back! It’s absofrickinlutely amazing! In fact, I kinda wondered why I never signed up for it long ago in the first place.
Hey everyone. I just wanna invite all of you to catch me this Monday (January 13, 2014) on The Medyo Late Night Show with Jojo A. It airs at 12:30AM on the show’s new home network – GMA-7.
It’s gonna be all sorts of fun. Plenty of stories, impromptu singing and laughter.
If there’s one thing Kris Aquino is totally known for, it’s for how brutally frank and candid she is when she speaks her mind… and how she, for some, notoriously is when she gets really “off-the-cuff” during conversations.
But personally, I’d take honesty any day of the year – no matter how blunt or painful it may be.
That being said, when Kris Aquino has an opinion about something, you can be damn sure it ain’t bull and that she’ll stand by it come hell or high water. If she realizes a mistake or misjudgement on her part, Kris is equally quick (and not afraid) to admit it.
That is called integrity.
Why am I saying all this, you ask? Because just recently, Kris Aquino has become Globe‘s newest endorser. Yep. Believe it.
I was recently invited to guest on GMA News TV’s early evening television program, “MARS”. The show is hosted by Camille Prats and Suzi Entrata.
I had tons of fun… lots of laughter and kwentuhan. I especially enjoyed the segment wherein I took on the role of “workout trainer” and taught the hosts a few cardio/metabolic accelerator routines which helped me drop my weight from 185lbs to 135lbs (Yes! 50 effin’ pounds! Believe it.)
Do you enjoy watching those hilarious Japanese game shows on YouTube? The way they actually come up with ridiculous contest mechanics that put their their guests in awkward and wacky situations?
If you do, you’re gonna love “Celebrity Samurai”!
Watch me this Sunday (May 6) at 12:45PM on TV5, together with Sheree, Archie Alemania and Onyok Velasco as we compete and do absurdly funny things together.
It’s gonna be one awesome episode that you wouldn’t want to miss. Cheers!
The past few days, GMA-7 has been slowly revealing the contestants for the upcoming celebrity edition of “Survivor Philippines”. All I can say is, “Thank God I chose NOT to take the offer”.
You see, a few months ago I was rung up by one of GMA-7’s execs asking me if I would be interested to join the upcoming 3rd season of Survivor Philippines. They further elaborated that for this celebrity edition they’ve been planning to put me in if I was “game”. They told me to come over to their office to discuss the deal in detail.
After the call, I pondered upon the prospect of being away for countless days in an isolated island away from the Philippines. Then I imagined myself stranded in a deserted place, amongst individuals who will do anything to win a coveted prize and title.
And though, the prize is tempting enough for anyone to blindly pursue… the thought of being away from my family for a month with no communication at all was too heavy a trade for me.
I turned down the offer.
Some may say I made a stupid choice… others may think I had cowardly forgone an opportunity that many could only dream of. Possibly. But still… no dice.
If I probably was still single with no kids to look after… maybe I’d reconsider. But that’s a big maybe.
I’d still have to wrestle with the idea of us contestants being a spectacle to millions of people akin to a goldfish inside an aquarium. Not to mention the possibility of compromising my morals and character to “survive” if need be. Do I really want to subject myself to such circumstances?
Nuh-uh! No thanks.
I’d rather be on the other side of the television set, if you know what I mean. :)
Nevertheless, I wish all the castaways the very best.
Besides… aren’t we all participating in our very own “Survivor”? Vying for a reward much much more valuable than millions of dollars?
The mechanics are simple: Love God. Love your neighbor. Serve the needy. Spread the Good News.
I got a call a few days ago from “Eat Bulaga” people asking me if I was willing to guest and participate in a game segment called, “Sa Pula, Sa Puti”. Most Pinoys know this already. The game is simple… you belong to one of two teams and take turns answering rather easy questions. First team to reach 3 points advances to the jackpot round.
I was to join other co-members of the now defunct television show, “That’s Entertainment”, for that particular portion.
I agreed to participate and went (naturally).
I was excited to see some of my old friends… my barkadas. Kinda hard to really touch base and hang out regularly since everyone’s into something else already and parenthood has pretty much placed everything else in the backseat.
My teammates (Puti) were Jojo Abellana, Ricky Rivero, Brylle Mondejar and Nadia Montenegro. The “Pula” team was comprised of Shirley Fuentes, Jeffrey Santos, Ramon Christopher, Robert Ortega and Jojo Alejar. T’was a mix of old and new “That’s” hosts.
Fast-forward to the game itself…
We (Puti team) swept the competition 3-0! So, it was bye-bye red team! We also won the jackpot prize amounting to 120,000.00! The jackpot cash was given to the Eat Bulaga scholars… (Happy to be doing this for a cause!)
More than anything, it was great fellowship! Nostalgia and reminiscing… (enter music, “Growing Up” by Gary V.)
Just like the old times, when “That’s Entertainment” was still around… it wasn’t the exposure or the singing or the dancing that was memorable… it was coming to the studio to just “hang out” with good friends.
And for a few moments, it felt just like that… it was “That’s” all over again. The backstage laughter, teasing and giggling…
