Whether you’re a foodie or not, you most probably have already heard of one of the more notable food establishments in the Metro called, Le Petit Souffle.
Le Petit Souffle is a fairly young restaurant that has immediately caught the attention and palates of countless people because of this place’s amazing ambiance and incredible dishes.
If there is one restaurant that never fails to excite me every single time, it most certainly has got to be Restaurant Tapenade at Discovery Primea in Makati City.
My visits there are always filled with great memories of delicious food with friends and family. All around great guy and boss of Primea’s kitchen, Chef Luis Chikiamco, really knows how to make get-togethers unforgettable through his culinary skill and creativity.
That’s why whenever Chef Luis has new dishes to showcase, I’m always there… well, every chance I get, that is.
My recent visit to Restaurant Tapenade was just as exciting as Chef Luis revealed a good number of dishes which happen to be their newest additions to their menu, focusing on the captivating flavors of the Meditarranean.
Here are just some of the wonderfully new offerings that caught my attention which you can expect during your next visit to one of the Metro’s most beloved restaurants.
Tagaytay is one place I never grow tired of visiting. It’s one of the best escape destinations that isn’t too far from Manila, making it easily accessible and convenient to travel to.
Apart from its pleasant climate, scenic Taal Lake and Volcano, and mouthwatering bulalo, I recently discovered a new restaurant that has given me more reason to keep on returning to Tagaytay — Amacena at One Tagaytay Place Hotel.
Amacena is an incredibly cozy and easygoing restaurant that boasts of a great selection of dishes carefully concocted and prepared by Executive Chef Luigi Muhlach. If his name sounds familiar, then you’re probably an ‘80s kid. Luigi Muhlach used to go by his childhood name — Igi Boy — a household name back in the day when his showbiz parents (and good friends of mine), Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen, used to mention his name regularly on television.
The diversity in ethnicity, religion and culture in Penang — particularly in George Town — is what makes this place a huge draw to tourists and travelers seeking great tasting offerings. This popular place is undoubtedly every foodie’s wonderland. It’s an incredible place where contasting flavors collide, matched with the amazing ambiance of Chinatown.
Here, you will find a variety of flavorful offerings that aren’t just delicious but incredibly affordable, too!
Ready to check out these amazing places to eat in Penang? Let’s go!
The Vikings are coming! They sure are! And they’re coming to do what they do best — to conquer!
This time, Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant is coming to Cebu to dominate the dining scene and their opening day at the 2nd level of the North Wing of SM City Cebu is closer than you think.
They say that you can experience a lot and learn one’s culture by trying out the distinct flavors of a country’s own food.
I absolutely agree. During my various travels in and out of the country, I make it a point to really try out the traditional dishes of any particular place. It is part of my immersion process.
That’s the very reason why when you chance upon a restaurant that serves flavorful authentic cuisine it somehow feels like you’re transported to that particular place.
There are a good number of these places in and around the metro. You just have to know where to find them. One of these restaurants happen to be Wee Nam Kee and their wonderful new dishes during their limited time offer called the United Flavors of Singapore.
Who doesn’t know about one of the most well-known buffet restaurant chains in the country? Vikings is arguably the go-to place for family get togethers and various festive celebrations.
So, since Vikings is such a popular food destination, you’re probably wondering why I am still writing about them. Well, simply because one of their newest branches (which I recently visited) has very different ambiance compared to their other establishments.
Vikings at SM Jazz, Makati City has everything you’ve come to expect from this well-loved franchise… except for the maddening crowd. Yup! This particular branch has a quainter setting and a noticeably more quiet atmosphere. Hey, it doesn’t mean that mixing it up with other people while choosing your favorite dishes ain’t fun. Of course it is!
But if you happen to be looking for a place to hangout which offers the same vast selection of delicious dishes sans the noise and body bumping action as you make your way around the buffet spread, then Vikings at SM Jazz is your best bet.
When I visited Vikings at SM Jazz for the first time, its coziness was the first thing I noticed – the place was significantly more comfortable. I didn’t really have anything to say about their spread because… hey… it’s Vikings, after all! This particular branch may seem to be considerably smaller than other branches, but its space sure doesn’t compromise on the overwhelming selection of dishes being offered here.
I’ve got a family that adores Chinese cuisine. Whenever we plan on dining out and there is suddenly an opportunity to choose what kind of food to eat, almost always, my wife and kids would suggest to dine at a Chinese restaurant.
You can imagine how happy my wife was when we visited one of the branches of a fairly young restaurant called, “Modern Shanghai”. Modern Shanghai is a franchise from Hong Kong that proudly offers honest-to-goodness Chinese cuisine in a casual yet classy dining set-up.
Unlike your typical casual Chinese restaurant that is usually brightly lit and with lots of noise from customers and staff, Modern Shanghai gives off a classier atmosphere with ambient lighting very conducive for meetings, romantic dates and intimate gatherings.
Modern Shanghai’s offerings have deeply rooted historical significance in various parts of China – from the province of Guangdong to the coastal province of Shangdong. Their dishes are prepared using traditional ingredients and cooking methods to preserve their authenticity.
Allow me to showcase a few of Modern Shanghai’s incredible dishes which I am quite confident you will enjoy with friends and family as well.
It’s no secret that I love burgers. I would normally go for a thick juicy burger rather than a typical lunch meal that has rice.
I go crazy over burger joints that not just aim to please but overwhelmingly satisfy. Nothing beats a perfectly prepared meaty burger dripping with its own glorious juices. OMG. Talking about burgers made me hungry all of a sudden. Hahaha!
I recently visited a fairly new burger joint in Makati called, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers.
I was absolutely curious to find out why a lot of people in Manila have been going crazy over this burger establishment located at the 3rd level of Greenbelt 3, Makati City, which was also voted “Best of Honolulu”.
And so, my wife and I went with eager anticipation. As I approached Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, I was praying that the food being served would live up to the enormous hype.
Hotdog stands are a dime a dozen in and around the metro. From typical hotdog stands along the streets or beside school entrances to one-stop hotdog establishments inside malls and shopping complexes.
I absolutely love hotdogs… whether they are on buns or enjoyed with rice, I can eat them throughout the day. But with all these old and new hotdog stands sprouting up all over, it’s quite disappointing to realize that most of these food shops battle it out in terms of pricing and logistics but lack a sense of creativity.
Recently, I chanced upon a fairly new establishment named, Franks. This interesting food spot serves not just good, but GREAT hotdogs and so much more! What’s really amusing is that Franks is actually located inside a casino of all places – Resorts World Manila, to be exact.
