Great news, Globe subscribers! All our favorite call and text promos, including GoSURF plans, now have FREE Facebook and Viber! Yipee!
It’s pretty simple, folks. The country’s leading mobile brand, Globe Telecom, continues its promise to provide more perks and wonderful surprises to subscribers by giving everyone free access to Facebook and Viber with their favorite call, text and surf promos.
I love watching movies and television shows whenever I’ve got free time on my hands. It’s something I look forward to whenever I want to kick back and relax. Only problem is… sometimes work doesn’t permit me to catch my favorite series episodes and movies in time. That can be a real bummer for people who passionately follow certain TV series like their lives counted on it.
Thankfully, HOOQ has finally arrived here in the Philippines in partnership with Globe Telecom.
For those who aren’t aware, HOOQ is a start-up joint venture between Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. Entertainment. This awesome service will enable customers of Globe Telecom to enjoy unlimited online streaming access and an offline viewing option to awesome Hollywood and Filipino movie and television content. Customers can access HOOQ using any device including computers, smartphones and tablets. It’s really exciting!
We Filipinos are a people that love Christmas time a whole lot. In fact, we celebrate this wonderful season the longest compared to other countries. When the “ber” months start creeping in, houses and streets are immediately adorned with lights and lanterns to signify the start of this most anticipated part of the year. You could also immediately hear Christmas songs playing on the radio and inside malls.
There’s just something about Christmas songs that uplift our spirits and gives us that certain warm fuzzy feeling.
I enjoy listening to Christmas tunes and yuletide carols as much as the next guy. That’s why I’ve packed my Spotify app with a good number of their recently launched Spotify Holiday Playlists. It’s a sure fire way to get anyone into that merry mood.
Since the time I posted about my switch from SuperSurf to the all-new GoSURF (Globe Telecom’s latest and greatest mobile data plan), it was a pleasant surprise to also discover that a good majority of people I know, including friends, have made the switch as well.
I even explained in length via a previous blog post, why I made the inevitable move to GoSURF. You can read all about it here and be enlightened yourselves.
Basically, in a nutshell, Globe GoSURF enables me to choose the type of mobile data plan that fits my kind of lifestyle. This effectively allows me to avoid data throttling brought about by the old Fair Use Policy which people have been complaining about for the longest time.
All roads lead to a musical wonderland called “Wanderland” (Yep! Don’t be confused…)!
Globe Wanderland is an awesome music fest that happens on May 17, 2014 at the Globe Circuit Events Ground, Makati. This very happenin’ event is headlined by some of the hottest acts around – Paper Kites, Royal Concept, Architecture in Helsinki, Lucy Rose, Last Dinosaurs, Woody Pitney, The Ransom Collective, Brisom, Techy Romantics, and Chocolate Grass.
Globe Wanderland changes the music fest game
We’re all used to attending concerts with artists already pre-selecting their performance set list. This time, in a very different yet amusing twist, Globe shakes up the way songs are performed on the Globe Wanderland stage.
Remember my recent mobile data usage test to see if it was actually possible to go beyond the 3GB monthly threshold of telcos?
That particular test actually proved that even with a Fair Use Policy, I was comfortably within the 3GB data cap.
I’m actually happy that I was able to help a good number of people understand that most of our paranoia comes from the fact that we just want more, even when in reality, we consume way less data than what we think. But apparently, there is still a lot of people paranoid about the Fair Use Policy.
Some of my readers complain that non-WiFi users hit their daily/monthly data cap much faster because they are solely dependent on mobile data. That’s understandable, although mobile data was never intended to be used exclusively. This particular data service still needs to be complimented with a substantial WiFi connection. But at the end of the day, some people still cannot quite understand that.
That’s ok. No need to fret over that anymore because there actually seems to be a better solution… and in fact, I already recently made the switch!
Going Globe GoSURF
Coming from my very old Supersurf data package (which I’ve been using for roughly 3+ years with my postpaid plan), I eagerly moved to Globe’s new “GoSURF“ plan.
I recently read a blog post over at Yugatech’s site about something Globe Telecom is cooking up called “GoSurf”(note that the source isn’t Globe).
According to Yugatech’s post:
“Subscribers will be offered GoSurf plans which is basically 5GB of LTE plus unlimited access to the EDGE network after the allocation is consumed. It’s still basically unlimited access to their data network, only that you’ll be transferred to the slower network once you’ve consumed 5GB of data.”
Personally, if this is true… I think it’s great news! Read more
