I am such a Star Wars geek. I love everything about this franchise’s mythos. And as an avid fan of this beloved epic movie series, I try not to miss any opportunity to “get my geek on”, so to speak.
Whether it’s trying to be first in line when the movie opens or scouring the mall finding new merchandise to add to my geeky collections, I’m in.
Last December 10, 2016 was no exception.
With bated breath, I awaited the unveiling of the new Rogue One Mural at the Sky Dome of SM North Edsa. Yes, I braved the horrendous traffic and hordes of people to witness this pretty amazing work of art.
I’m a huge fan of Grab. Whether it’s GrabCar, GrabTaxi, GrabExpress, GrabBike or GrabHeli. There really is no downside to any of Grab’s services and I’m sure those who have also experienced its convenience will easily agree with me.
In case you’re one of those who still take the cab more often than GrabTaxi, allow me – or Grab, rather – to “drive” the message home (pardon the pun) through their miniseries of fun short videos starring Alex Gonzaga entitled, “Misadventures of Alex”.
GrabTaxi’s Misadventures of Alex shows the different benefits of booking a GrabTaxi instead of taking regular ones. The episodes are very entertaining and quite amusing. In the end, if you think about it… there really is a huge amount of truth in the scenarios depicted on each video which we can easily relate to.
So, GRAB some popcorn (or whatever junkfood makes you happy) and enjoy all the episodes of the Misadventures of Alex right below.
Oh, boy! Who among you guys waited with bated breath and eager anticipation for the start of the Manila International Auto Show 2016 which opened its doors last April 7, 2016? I know I was one of ‘em.
Every year, for just a couple of days here in the Philippines, all roads (pun intended!) lead to the Manila International Auto Show. This annual event which is co-presented by BPI Family Savings Bank, never fails to mount a spectacular showcase of automobiles that draws not just car aficionados but even common folk who are simply looking to get their own brand new vehicle.
As cliche as it sounds, I cannot stress enough how true the saying is that “Health is wealth”.
As a family man who watches over my wife and two teenage kids, it is important to make the health and welfare of my loved ones a top priority. I make sure that junk food is kept to a minimum, physical activities and regular exercise are incorporated into our lifestyle, and proper hygiene is practiced at all times.
As much as possible, I try to lead by example so as to encourage my family to do the same.
You’ve probably already heard of the Biogesic Ingat Na Damang-Dama Sineserye Year 2 (#IngatNaDamangDama) contest that has been going on recently, right?
Well, the five (5) Sineserye finalists are now up and their videos are ready for viewing by everyone. I just have to say… each Sineserye is very impressive in its own right.
I live in a household that adores coffee. My father, even back when I was a kid, could hardly function without starting his day with a steaming cup of hot coffee. Every morning, my wife would get up and jumpstart the day’s activities by enjoying a satisfying cup of delicious coffee.
In my line of work (showbusiness), coffee plays a vital part in every taping day and every single shoot. And rightfully so. How can cast and crew function, especially in the wee hours of the morning without a decent “pick-me-up” drink?
Coffee is arguably one of the most important beverages of society. It breaks the ice, soothes and comforts, improves work efficiency and, yes, promotes good health.
But not all coffee drinks are made equal. Some taste better, while some offer more health benefits than others. And with a family that lives for coffee, I am quite thrilled to discover the latter.
It’s called “Nice Day Coffee”.
What makes Nice Day Coffee different, you ask? Well, it comes three (3) different variants, each offering its own health benefit… while tasting oh so good.
I vividly remember having a daily delivery of The Philippine Star brought to my desk every morning as part of our high school class’ morning ritual back in the late ’80s and early ’90s. It was actually good training for us kids back then.
I actually love reading the newspaper. I grew up flipping through the pages of my father’s daily broadsheet delivery. Early on, I’ve been taught to be constantly aware of our current events and happenings.
Today, though the medium of learning about the news has significantly changed, my desire to be constantly “in the know” hasn’t. This is actually a very good thing. And just as this habit has been ingrained in me by my parents, so should we do the same to the kids of today.
In fact, because of the internet and the power of social media, this generation now has more ways of gathering news and learning about them much faster.
But where to look for accurate and credible reports is the tricky part. Anyone with a smartphone and a Twitter or Facebook account can immediately become sources of different kinds of news. But how verifiable? That is the question. Good thing I discovered that one of the biggest broadsheets in the country, The Philippine Star, has come up with an app that provides the same high standard of news reporting but at the same time, catering to the reading habits of this newer generation.
It is called, “The Philippine Star” Pagesuite app. You download it on the AppStore just like any other normal app. The only difference is that, this app installs into your iPhone’s built-in “Newsstand” app instead of the usual standalone type.
I absolutely love Krispy Kreme donuts. My family does, too. Whenever we’re out at the mall, we make it a point to drive by Krispy Kreme to take home a couple of boxes of their donuts so we have something delicious to enjoy at home. It also makes for great family bonding.
There was a time when all I could think about was their original glazed donuts. Hahaha! I’d make sure to stop by their store for these yummy goodies all the time.
I particularly love their new Krispy Kreme JOY IN A BOX donuts which not only tastes great but is also an amazing way to convey cute and novelty messages to friends, family and loved ones.
Check out our very own Krispy Kreme JOY IN BOX donuts…
Cute, right?
Each box of Krispy Kreme JOY IN A BOX donuts contain 20 cute pieces of beignets which you can customize and form a 20-character message by adding letters, drawings/artwork or simply by using sprinkles.
Has this thought ever crossed your mind recently? With the various problems our country is burdened and battered with, have you considered to stop and think about the wonderful things that still make us proud to be Filipino? Maybe a story or a personal experience or even a general trait that would make you say to yourself, “Ang sarap maging Pilipino…”
Allow me to share my own thoughts with you while we’re at it…
If there is one thing or trait I absolutely love about us Filipinos as a people, it is perhaps our hospitality towards other people.
Indeed, other nationalities and cultures are generally hospitable as well. But ours is arguably on a league all its own. Ask any foreigner who’s recently experienced a Filipino’s warmth and wholehearted graciousness. Filipinos are known to have this very admirable characteristic. Filipinos love to help others. We smile and go out of our way to go the extra mile even for people whom we consider to be strangers. We love to please others even when we are inconvenienced by it. And we never complain.
Who else on Earth does that? Correction… let me rephrase the question. Who else on Earth can be just as accommodating and hospitable to others and extend this level of kindness so effortlessly?
