Exploring Batu Caves with The Dreys

During our family’s quick visit to Malaysia to attend our son’s graduation, we also booked a wonderful trip to see the “Batu Caves” — a very popular tourist attraction in the country.

Batu Caves, here we come!

Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and 400-year old Hindu cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. Just a few minutes outside of Kuala Lumpur.

I made a new friend :)

We were able to meet a few monkeys as we climbed the 272 concrete steps.

It was so worth it when we reached the top because the temples are so beautiful and the limestone formations are breathtaking!

I just found out that the limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Wow!

Apart from that, after descending from the caves, we enjoyed some Chapati (flatbread) with curry sauce and a refreshing round of Teh Tarik (Malaysian Milk Tea) at the restaurant below. Sarap sobra!
