Shake Shack finally comes to Manila: First look, menu, and prices!

Get ready because one of the best burger chains in the world is finally coming to Manila! That’s right! After a the long hype and buzz which started last year, Shake Shack is finally opening their doors here in Manila on May 10!

It used to be that my family and I would have to visit Hong Kong in order to enjoy the delicious specialties of Shake Shack. Not anymore. Yay!

I was actually curious to know if the staple offerings of Shake Shack that will be served here in Manila would taste just as good as their counterparts in HK. Well, I am happy to report to those raring to find out that, in my honest opinion, the specialties served here actually taste much better! Yup! I’ll get to that later on.

A showcase of Shake Shack specialties

Recently, I attended Shake Shack’s private media preview event which was held at their first soon-to-open branch in Manila — Central Square, BGC.

Shake Shack Manila - Chuckie Dreyfus

Shake Shack’s Culinary Director, Mark Rosati, was there to greet us and share a few stories about Shake Shack. He also introduced and talked about the dishes that were served to us.

Mark mentioned that he’s thrilled to introduce their Manila-exclusive menu that features just a few of the flavors and ingredients they fell in love with, and are humbled to become part of this vibrant community.

During the event, I was able to try out some of their incredibly delicious regular items on their menu, as well as a couple of “Manila Exclusive” specialties; one-of-a-kind menu items for the Manila community, only found in the Philippines.

Check out some of the mouthwatering items that I was able to enjoy during Shake Shack’s pre-opening exclusive media preview.

Calamansi Limeade

Calamansi Limeade

This is one of Shake Shack’s Manila exclusive items that I tried. It’s a local twist on a Shack classic lemonade. The Calamansi Limeade offers the perfect combination of sweet and tart with the beloved calamansi as the star of the show. Truly refreshing and a really good pick-me-upper. Great to beat the intense heat of summer.

Cheese Fries

Shack Burger

Shack Burger

Perhaps Shake Shack’s most popular classic offering. One bite and you’ll immediately know why this item is a bestseller in all of their branches.

An instant fave from the first sip! The Ube Shake features vanilla frozen custard ice cream blended with ube; hand-spun to order. This is a Shack take on the classic flavor found all over the Philippines.

Look at all that cheese oozing out! Deliciously messy! Wow!

I don’t know if it’s just me but that’s exactly what I thought the moment I took my first bite. Wow.

The Shake Shack menu will also feature three unique concretes (frozen custard ice cream made in-Shack every day, then blended with mix-ins featuring iconic Filipino flavors or local bakers and artisans).

Naturally, I grabbed the opportunity and had my copy personally signed by Mark Rosati.

Well, that’s it! ‘Twas a truly tummy filling and flavorful few hours spent with the wonderful folks of Shake Shack. I look forward to coming back very soon for seconds (and thirds!).
