I had an absolute blast a couple of nights ago when I was invited by my good friends from Discovery Primea especially Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco to an intimate yet spectacular dinner at Tapenade.
Since the first time I visited Tapenade at Discovery Primea, it has always remained one of my top go-to restaurants for excellent food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant never fails to impress any guest who has dined there – first-timer or otherwise.
During my recent visit, Chef Luis prepared a sneak preview of what to expect when this awesome establishment launches their very own Mozzarella Bar very soon. Chef also whipped up an incredible lineup of impressive dishes, some of which are only on a limited run so it’s best to read on and visit Tapenade soonest.
Let’s begin, shall we?
New spectacular dishes at Tapenade, Discovery Primea
First up, a delightful appetizer boasting of leeks, prosciutto, mozzarella di bufala with shallot fig jam on toasted ciabatta. Very light yet very flavorful.
Next up… a dish meat lovers will rejoice over – the Salumi Pizza (Php 590.00). This gloriously meaty pizza is packed with house-made Fennel Sausage, a generous amount of bacon (OH, YEAH!), Guanciale, Salsiccia Piccante, tomatoes and mozzarella. Truly a dish worth trying when you visit Tapenade.

Chef Luis brought out what I would consider to be the main event of that evening — the Bistecca alla Fiorentina! A grain-fed T-Bone steak that is perfectly seasoned with just salt and pepper. OMG! No gravy or seasoning required – the true measure of a superb steak. Words fail me. It’s just something you really must try! Serves two… unless you’re my son, in which case the dish serves only one. LOL!
Hurry! Try out the Bistecca alla Fiorentina and don’t delay. This delicious specialty is on a limited run and is only being offered during the month of April. I’m really hoping they extend it, though.
An excellent meal deserves to be capped off with an equally excellent dessert. This particular evening, 2 desserts were brought out to my delight.
A showcase of deliciously contrasting flavors, Chef Luis and Tapenade’s Lemon Speculoos was hands-down a refreshing showstopper.
Care for a really amazing chocolate meal ender? You won’t be disappointed with Tapenade’s glorious Flourless Chocolate Cake. This dessert had a wonderful texture that reminded me of a Tablea chocolate drink. The grainy texture won me over immediately.
Truly, every dish served at Tapenade never fails to impress and surprise. Chef Luis Chikiamco has done it again. The gastronomical masterpieces that come out of his kitchen are truly worth your time, travel and hard-earned money. No wonder Discovery Primea’s Executive Chef Luis J. Chikiamco is recognized as one of the Top 5 Chefs under 35.
