Hotdog stands are a dime a dozen in and around the metro. From typical hotdog stands along the streets or beside school entrances to one-stop hotdog establishments inside malls and shopping complexes.
I absolutely love hotdogs… whether they are on buns or enjoyed with rice, I can eat them throughout the day. But with all these old and new hotdog stands sprouting up all over, it’s quite disappointing to realize that most of these food shops battle it out in terms of pricing and logistics but lack a sense of creativity.
Recently, I chanced upon a fairly new establishment named, Franks. This interesting food spot serves not just good, but GREAT hotdogs and so much more! What’s really amusing is that Franks is actually located inside a casino of all places – Resorts World Manila, to be exact.
During my visit to Franks, I was able to meet their really cool and enthusiastic head chef – Chef Ben Bernardo. You can clearly tell how passionate he is about creating new kinds of hotdog creations… the kind you you will never find elsewhere. In fact, even the hotdogs they serve are specially made just for Franks.
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It actually feels like a dimly-lit laid back sports bar.
Unique hotdogs only at Franks

Franks Chicken Inasal Hotdog (Php 148.00)
Ilonggos (like me!) know good chicken inasal when we taste one. But “Chicken Inasal Hotdog”? Now that’s a different story! Chef Ben proudly brought out this Franks specialty to my amazement.
I’ve never seen Chicken Inasal Hotdog before and I’m quite sure you haven’t, too. They even use chicken hotdogs for it! I kid you not… this is not your typical hotdog. It’s unique, flavorful and very filling. It’s Chicken Inasal and hotdog, for pete’s sake – the best of both worlds… incredible! Up next…
Franks Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog (Php 148.00)
Who doesn’t love adobo? I sure as hell adore adobo regardless if it’s made of chicken or pork. Foreigners love adobo, too. So, it seems like a no-brainer that Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog is the kind concoction that’s sure to be a huge hit to pinoys and non-pinoys alike.
How can you not love hotdog smothered in Adobo sauce, relish and topped with crispy fried garlic. OMG! It’s crazy good. You just have to try it out to believe me.
If these hotdogs are any indication, anyone who drops by Franks are in for a fiesta of flavors, so to speak. Throw in an amazing (and very tasty) cup of chili con carne and you’re good to go! Thank God, Franks and Chef Ben thought of coming up with these new and uniquely impressive hotdog creations.
While chatting with Chef Ben over another round of Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog, I actually suggested that he try putting in some salted egg (itlog na maalat) and chopped tomatoes for good measure and to add more authenticity to how real adobo is enjoyed. Little did I know that he was actually taking my two cents seriously.
I noticed that Chef Ben walked up to a waiter and whispered a few things… I didn’t really think anything of it. I thought maybe he was just simultaneously manning the establishment while entertaining me and my wife. But lo and behold! A few moments later, out comes a waiter with salted egg and chopped tomatoes! Wow!
Right in front of me, he started creating the very Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog that I just suggested.
It was such an honor for someone like me who knows little to nothing about cooking to have a chef take my suggestions and thoughts seriously.
Of course, as they all say… the truth of the tasting is in the pudding. I’ve yet to taste my very own version of Franks’ Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog to see if it can go toe-to-toe with the rest of Franks’ other unique hotdog offerings.

It is finished! Presenting… the “CHUCKIE DOG”! Chicken Pork Adobo Hotdog smothered in adobo sauce, sprinkled with crispy garlic bits, chopped tomatoes and salted egg… PERFECT!
So, whether it’s your first time to visit Franks or if you’ve been here before, make sure to order a Chuckie Dog. You might enjoy it just as much as I did. Haha!
If spicy food is more to your liking, not a problem! Franks boasts of a variety of chili sauces from mild to extremely hot flavors.
Simply head over to their rack of chili sauce bottles located by the wall, grab whatever you fancy and bring it to your table. Pretty cool, eh?
It’s fairly easy to assume that with what little, yet insanely delicious hotdog creations I’ve tried at Franks, I will most definitely be back again and again. There’s so much more I’ve yet to try and until my return, I shall be eagerly looking forward to my future visits.
I’ve always believed that great food is something that needs to experienced… and boy, what an experience my visit to Franks was. It’s difficult to compare Franks to other hotdog establishments around… in fact, with the calibre of hotdog creations that Franks (and Chef Ben) offers, it would be an injustice to do so.
One thing, though… it should be noted that persons under the age of 21 are not allowed to enter the casino area of Resorts World Manila where Franks is located at. But Franks can easily deliver your orders outside the casino area.
Next time you’re craving for some good ol’ hotdogs, do yourself a favor and head over to Franks at Resorts World Manila and reward yourself with amazing hotdog dishes that you so richly deserve.
