Gain? Train!

Some people wonder how I can have a foodie wife and yet stay physically fit.

Quite a number of individuals have already asked me how I manage to hop from one resto to the other with my wife (at times even everyday), eating all sorts of dishes, yet not letting most of the calories show on my tummy.

The answer is as simple as it is difficult.

I spend a good amount of time in the gym doing a ton of cardio and weight training. It’s the price I have to pay so that I can be able to indulge a little bit more whenever we are at food events.

Some people say “ang sipag ko”… but believe me… it’s more discipline than sipag.

There’s a difference, you know.

There are times when I absolutely DO NOT feel like going to the gym. I’m sure a lot of people get the same feeling every now and then. But during these days, you just have to push harder, press on and drag your butt to the gym. Sometimes, your head will come up of all sorts of excuses to justify not going.

It’s damn hard. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

But if and when you finally decide to workout and train, you’ve got to do it for all the right reasons. Don’t do it because you just want to be “buff” or because it’s the trend. Do it because you want to be healthy… long-term.

Remember… being fit is not just an objective. It’s a lifestyle.
