Server Migration
Just a quick update.
It’s been a couple of days since I’ve posted anything here on the blog… but with good reason, though.
The contents of my blog are currently being migrated to a new server. A backup of my stuff have been done a couple of days ago. Anything posted beyond that backup point will disappear as soon as migration has been completed.
Heck! I’m not even sure if this particular post will even survive the move since migration is still ongoing. So, let’s just treat this post as a test for the meantime.
I have a ton of stuff needed to be published soon and the backlog is just piling up more and more. But until I am definite that migration is complete, I am forced to wait lest all my posts go to waste.
Hoping to have everything in order later in the day (or tomorrow at the latest). *crossing fingers!*

How did the server migration go? Btw, if you don’t mind me asking, who was your previous hosting provider and where is your blog currently hosted?

Migration still ongoing. I copied all posts made after the backup and saved them locally in case it doesn’t appear after migration has been completed which is probably due to happen later or the day after. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. Eeeep! The site is hosted abroad (US). Previous server couldn’t handle the load accdg to server peeps. So, I had to upgrade everything.

Oh okay. Yeah, backups are a vital part of any blog. I’ve learned it the hard way – lost 2 years worth of blog posts when my hosting provider got hacked and I didn’t have any backups, so now I’m a bit paranoid when it comes to backups.
What process or plugin do you use for backups? One additional measure you can take is to subscribe to your blog’s RSS feeds. I know several bloggers who were able to recover their posts using their RSS feeds.
I know how it feels. Migration is always unpredictable and the only time you can relax is when it’s completely done. Btw, are you on shared hosting or VPS?
