Check out my rare opportunity to be with Ms. Patti Austin during her band practice (interview and rehearsal) here in Manila the night before her concert. Pics and video. Click here.
If you spent most of your childhood years in the late ’70s and early ’80s like me, it would be impossible for you not to know Patti Austin. Just like James Ingram, Billy Joel or Chaka Khan, some of Patti Austin’s songs became huge soundtracks of our lives.
Check out one of Patti Austin’s live performances below… here she sings a David Grusin composition entitled, “It Might Be You”, which was also popularized by Stephen Bishop (“Tootsie” OST).
Brings back a lot of memories, right?
Well, you’ll have more opportunities to reminisce and “bring back the old times…” (as David Pomeranz would say), because Patti Austin is coming back to Manila very soon to perform her greatest hits for everyone.
Concert organizer Ovation Productions has announced that they are bringing Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Patti Austin. The American R&B, pop and jazz artist has performed in Manila many times before. She is very excited to come back to the country again and to entertain the Filipino audience.
This time around, Ms. Austin will be having as front act, Joe Pizzulo, who sang for popular Brazilian artist Sergio Mendes as lead singer in the 1980s. He is the voice behind the hit singles “Never Gonna Let You Go”, “What Do We Mean To Each Other”, and “I’m Never Gonna Give You Up” among many others. Austin and Pizzulo will be performing at the world class Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila on August 9 and at the Waterfront Hotel in idyllic Cebu City on August 10.
Those who weren’t able to watch Patti Austin’s previous concerts here during her past visits now have another opportunity to do so. Excited? Of course, you are!
I’m definitely gonna be there. See you at the concert, alright?
