The Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini
Earlier today, Globe Telecom launched its latest product: The Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini!
I was there to witness what Globe claims to be the “fastest ever” broadband stick with download speeds of up to 10Mbps. I came to the event not knowing how impressive this device would be or if it would, in any way, fall short of all the hype (more about that later).
Notable personalities from traditional and social media were there to grace the occasion as well as press people and lifestyle celebrities.
The presentation was a spectacle of sights and sounds… a constant glow of “Globe blue” enveloped the entire Ballroom A of the Heritage Hotel. The explosive sound of the Lamborghini’s exhaust could be heard over the sound system as it was looped throughout the evening. A huge video wall was installed on one side encompassing the entire area so no matter where you were, you’d be sure to have a decent view of what’s happening on-stage.
After a few minutes of mingling around and exchanging hellos, the program formally began… Enter sound effects… adrenaline-pumping music up… and cue dramatic lighting.
Globe maximized the use of the vastly wide video wall as images and videos zoomed in and out with awesome graphics and enough strobe lights to put anyone with an epileptic history into seizure… and I mean that in a good way!
After the awesome intro, Globe transitioned into a more serious feel as they explained how vital it is to have a faster (and stable) broadband connection in this day and age.
“Information moves across the globe with unpredictable speed. As the world changes faster than a click, the most reliable connections become inevitable to keep you in the loop.” – Globe
Dong Ronquillo (Globe Head of Broadband and Landline Marketing) eventually comes up on stage and introduces their latest (and perhaps, greatest) gadget to date… The Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini, as well as their newest Globe Ambassador for this device leader in speed – Filipino-Swiss Formula One racer Marlon Stockinger.
Globe says that the Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini quenches every web surfer’s thirst for speed as it runs with speeds of up to 10 mbps coming in its sleek and sophisticated design. The Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick comes with the revolutionary HSPA+ device.
It is the first internet device commercially available running on the largest 4G Network in the country for every user to enjoy seamless connectivity anytime, anywhere. With record-setting speeds, users can enjoy consistent video streaming, gaming and other on-line activities. It is connectivity like you have never experienced before. – Globe
I had the opportunity to try out this new device hands-on using one of Globe’s demo stations. Together with friends, Cecile Van Straten of chuvaness.com & Noemi Lardizabal-Dado of blogwatch.tv, we sequestered a netbook hooked up with a Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini stick.
Sure enough, this awesome device walked the talk. All my doubts went out the window after gauging its performance via speedtest.net.
2 speed tests resulted in 7.57 Mbps and 9.72 Mbps respectively.
To date, Globe 4G mobile technology has been deployed covering sites across Metro Manila, which includes Marikina, Quezon City, Makati, Pasay, Las Pinas, Taguig and the City of Manila. By end-2011, Globe expects to increase its 4G presence dramatically with continued expansion planned into 2012.
With the Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini stick’s impressive showing, one very important question is left to be answered – “Is there any daily/monthly bandwidth cap that comes in tow with this postpaid subscription?”
Well, according to Globe, the answer to that query is “NO”. You read that right: “No. Bandwidth. Cap.”.
With that one vital concern out the way, I seriously want a Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini subscription… ASAP!
So, if you’re raring to get set with the new Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick (just like me), race to the nearest Globe Store or call 730-1000 for more details. Also, check out http://tattoo.globe.com.ph/ to know more about Globe Tattoo products and services.
