I’m actually not one who would immediately think of Chinese food when heading out to eat with friends or family. It’s not that I don’t enjoy Oriental dishes. It is perhaps because I’m more partial to Japanese and Continental fare.
That being said, who would’ve thought I’d have so much fun food tripping in Hong Kong?!
Just recently, my wife and I together with a couple of close foodie friends (The KTG!) and travel buddies were invited to join a fun and adventurous Hong Kong food tour courtesy of Philippines AirAsia and Vikings Luxury Buffet for their “Dine and Fly” promo – their first ever collaboration which just recently concluded. During this campaign, Philippines AirAsia and Vikings gave free trips to Hong Kong and Malaysia (including hotel accommodations) for three days and two nights to two (2) lucky winners. Incredible, right?!
So, this Hong Kong food tour meant trying out dishes – yes, including non-traditional fare – that have helped define this incredible city. And since I am one who never turns down an adventure or a challenge, for that matter, I was naturally all for it.
