Recently, I visited a fairly well known restaurant located right smack in the heart of Rockwell, Makati, known for its delicious and impressive Negrense cuisine – “Kafe Batwan”.
This cool and very homey establishment is owned by celebrity chef and fellow kababayan JP Anglo.
The reason for visiting wasn’t mainly because I wanted to try out Chef JP Anglo’s dishes (although I did get to sample a good number of ‘em during that day). I was there to witness Chef JP being launched as the newest Globe Platinum ambassador.
Never underestimate the importance of good eyesight. That’s probably one thing I’ve learned as I grew up. Back in the day when I was decades younger, taking care of my eyesight was something I always took for granted. I’d read books and comics for hours on end even with little to no light at all. When my eyes would itch, I’d rub them so hard not thinking of the harm I was actually doing.
I guess, over time… these things, not to mention age, has inevitably led to the eventual degradation of my vision. And as cliche as it may sound, nothing could be truer than the saying that, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.”
But just because my eyesight isn’t 20/20 anymore doesn’t mean I shouldn’t care for them any less. On the contrary, all the more should one be more careful and cautious of how their eyes are cared for and maintained. That’s the very reason why choosing the right kind of eyeglasses is critical and should not be taken lightly.
When the opportunity came to try out Transitions XTRActive Adaptive Lenses and break them in in beautiful Batanes via SkyJet Airlines, I didn’t think twice. I knew right away that these were the perfect pair of glasses for me.
Are you raring to head over to Kalibo and join the Ati-Atihan festivities? Perfect! There’s no better time than now to fly with Philippines AirAsia, the official airline partner of Ati-Atihan festival 2016, and get exclusive discount treats and bargain deals!
For the first time, Philippines AirAsia is this year’s proud airline partner of Ati-Atihan festival in Kalibo – and the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for seven straight years running since 2009 is celebrating with exclusive treats for its guests flying to/from Kalibo from Manila and international destinations of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Busan and Seoul in South Korea and various points in China.
I’m actually not one who would immediately think of Chinese food when heading out to eat with friends or family. It’s not that I don’t enjoy Oriental dishes. It is perhaps because I’m more partial to Japanese and Continental fare.
That being said, who would’ve thought I’d have so much fun food tripping in Hong Kong?!
Just recently, my wife and I together with a couple of close foodie friends (The KTG!) and travel buddies were invited to join a fun and adventurous Hong Kong food tour courtesy of Philippines AirAsia and Vikings Luxury Buffet for their “Dine and Fly” promo – their first ever collaboration which just recently concluded. During this campaign, Philippines AirAsia and Vikings gave free trips to Hong Kong and Malaysia (including hotel accommodations) for three days and two nights to two (2) lucky winners. Incredible, right?!
So, this Hong Kong food tour meant trying out dishes – yes, including non-traditional fare – that have helped define this incredible city. And since I am one who never turns down an adventure or a challenge, for that matter, I was naturally all for it.
There are so many reasons why one would want to visit Cebu City. Apart from the friendly people and amazing sights, the “Queen City of the South” boasts of incredible food (Yes! The FOOD!)
And just as of late, a recent (huge) addition to this metropolis has suddenly made Cebu even more attractive to visitors and locals alike.
The addition? SM Seaside City Cebu!

My family and I recently checked out a restaurant amusingly called, WRONG RAMEN, located in Burgos Circle at The Fort. I’ll tell you this… I hardly fall for Oriental noodle dishes. The only time I fell absolutely in love with something like this was when I tried out RAMEN BAR at Robinson’s Magnolia a few […]
My family and I recently checked out a fairly young food spot that has been making quite a buzz around town as well as on social media due to its delicious dishes. The place? Ramen Bar. We’ve been meaning to hit this place up for quite some time now but haven’t really gotten ’round to […]
I’m a sucker for food. I love eating although it doesn’t quite show now because of the drastic diet and fitness regimen that I had to go through 2 years ago wherein I lost 50lbs in roughly 4 months (185lbs. down to 135lbs.) It takes a substantial amount of effort to stay fit. In fact, […]
I’d like to thank everyone who went out of their way to attend my 3rd Globe Lifestyle Seminar on Parenting earlier today at McDonald’s, Libis, Quezon City. It was great seeing lots of parents having a good time together with their kids. I hope you all enjoyed my stories and parenting tips. I had fun […]
