Every 9th of April of each year, our nation celebrates ARAW NG KAGITINGAN (Day of Valor).
Araw ng Kagitingan is sometimes also called Bataan Day or Bataan and Corregidor Day. However way people prefer to call this special occasion, this is the day when we, as a nation, honor the courage and heroism of the Filipino and American soldiers, not to mention our brave civilians, who valiantly stood against the Japanese troops on the Fall of Bataan during World War II. This includes those who were part of the infamous Bataan Death March — a 140-kilometer walk where countless soldiers died.
Acer sure knows how to throw a party. A #TooZesty party no less!
Just last week, the wonderful folks of Acer Philippines brought me and a couple of friends to the powdery white sands and crystal clear blue waters of beautiful Boracay to celebrate our zest for life and be one with them as they launch their newest smartphone – the Acer Liquid Zest.
Just a couple of days ago, I had so much fun attending an incredibly creative and unusually delightful event by our beloved chocolate bar, SNICKERS! Last Saturday, Snickers launched their #DontDriveHungry initiative with the ingenious idea of providing temporary license plates and car stickers to countless individuals who have waited quite a while for their official plates to be released by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). It is also a great way of reminding people to drive safe by not driving hungry.
Why come up with a SNICKERS Don’t Drive Hungry campaign, you ask?
You see, a study released by a top global navigation app revealed that Metro Manila was named as (get this!) “having the worst traffic on Earth.” Not only that. In the survey’s “Driver Satisfaction Index” the Philippines also did poorly, with a score of 3.9 (10 being satisfying and 1 being miserable). Tsk! Apart from that, Manila also topped the survey for the longest time spent commuting from home to office with an average time of 45.5 minutes, though some motorists report longer travel times especially during rush hour.
Ah! Now it makes perfect sense, right?
Oh, boy! Who among you guys waited with bated breath and eager anticipation for the start of the Manila International Auto Show 2016 which opened its doors last April 7, 2016? I know I was one of ‘em.
Every year, for just a couple of days here in the Philippines, all roads (pun intended!) lead to the Manila International Auto Show. This annual event which is co-presented by BPI Family Savings Bank, never fails to mount a spectacular showcase of automobiles that draws not just car aficionados but even common folk who are simply looking to get their own brand new vehicle.
I had an absolute blast a couple of nights ago when I was invited by my good friends from Discovery Primea especially Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco to an intimate yet spectacular dinner at Tapenade.
Since the first time I visited Tapenade at Discovery Primea, it has always remained one of my top go-to restaurants for excellent food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant never fails to impress any guest who has dined there – first-timer or otherwise.During my recent visit, Chef Luis prepared a sneak preview of what to expect when this awesome establishment launches their very own Mozzarella Bar very soon. Chef also whipped up an incredible lineup of impressive dishes, some of which are only on a limited run so it’s best to read on and visit Tapenade soonest.
Let’s begin, shall we?

I love Thai food. It’s like a festival of amazing flavors playing inside your mouth. You get dishes that are sour and spicy or sweet and tangy all at the same time. Thai food also looks just as good as it tastes, making it incredibly hard to ignore (or turn down). Unfortunately, really good Thai […]
I love eating spicy food and curry is no exception. Every now and then, I’d ask my wife to whip something up in the kitchen that has a touch of curry in it like Chicken or Beef Curry, perhaps. But apart from having them at home or heading over to the nearest Indian restaurant (which […]
Hey everyone. I will be hosting the afternoon public launch event of Gionee’s flagship smartphone – the ELife E7. Regarded by the tech brand as the best Android phone in the market today with a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, the Gionee ELife E7 will finally be unveiled in Metro Manila for everyone […]
Together with my wife and son, I recently had my annual flu shot. My daughter, Ella, was supposed to be with us but she wasn’t feeling too well so her shot has to be rescheduled. The process was quick and easy although it made my arm ache the remainder of that day. Oh well… small […]
I was pretty stoked when I was invited to attend the much anticipated TEDx event at Ateneo de Manila University which was held just recently. It’s a TED event! Who doesn’t wanna be there? For the benefit of those who don’t know exactly what TED is or doesn’t know the difference between TED and TEDx, […]
I’m a sucker for food. I love eating although it doesn’t quite show now because of the drastic diet and fitness regimen that I had to go through 2 years ago wherein I lost 50lbs in roughly 4 months (185lbs. down to 135lbs.) It takes a substantial amount of effort to stay fit. In fact, […]
PREVIOUS PARTS: Day 1 (Part 1 of 3), Day 1 (Part 2 of 3) Our next destination… the busy, crowded, festive and restaurant-riddled street of Jalan Alor. This is one long strip of road that seems to never sleep at night. The entire stretch of Jalan Alor is lined with all sorts of food stalls, with […]
PREVIOUS PART: Day 1 (Part 1 of 3) Our first stop along the way was the new National Palace of Malaysia called, Istana Negara. To say that Istana Negara is BIG is an understatement. Huge does not even come close to describing the place. Istana Negara is absofrickinlutely massive! You’ve got to be there to actually realize how […]
