Smart has finally resolved the WiMax connection problem I’ve had which has lasted for 4 weeks. Thank God! This has been loooong overdue.
After 3 weeks of complaining which fell on deaf ears, technical personnel have responded. It took a WiMax modem replacement and 3 days of repairing the base station tower near our area.
They’ve remedied my connection which had pathetic speedtest results such as this…
…to way better results for a 2Mbps connection such as this…
Thank you, Smart, for fixing my connection BUT it doesn’t erase the fact that it still took a grueling entire month for you to give my concern the proper attention it deserved.
Ironically, Smart has sent me (via email and snail mail) my current billing. Given that my WiMax connection has been practically non-existent the past month, I refuse to settle it and, in fact, am requesting that this current billing be wiped off entirely.
Smart has been advised and their people are on it already according to them. I certainly hope so. I’ve had enough headaches already.
Let’s hope my succeeding experiences with them will be pleasant from now on.
I’ve been having serious problems with my Smart WiMax connection recently. Imagine having to deal with a modem that takes more than an hour to connect and, when it does, delivers an insanely
slow crawling speed of 0.05-0.3kbps (using speedtest.net and the Smart server).
My mobile phone’s connection (even on EDGE) is pathetically faster than my current 2Mbps WiMax subscription.
3 weeks of seeking customer care’s assistance seemed to fall on deaf ears. You’d think someone on the other end of their “@SmartCares” twitter account would actually be monitoring customers’ rants and inquiries. I was sorely mistaken.
I was there to witness what Globe claims to be the “fastest ever” broadband stick with download speeds of up to 10Mbps. I came to the event not knowing how impressive this device would be or if it would, in any way, fall short of all the hype (more about that later).
Notable personalities from traditional and social media were there to grace the occasion as well as press people and lifestyle celebrities.
The presentation was a spectacle of sights and sounds… a constant glow of “Globe blue” enveloped the entire Ballroom A of the Heritage Hotel. The explosive sound of the Lamborghini’s exhaust could be heard over the sound system as it was looped throughout the evening. A huge video wall was installed on one side encompassing the entire area so no matter where you were, you’d be sure to have a decent view of what’s happening on-stage.
After a few minutes of mingling around and exchanging hellos, the program formally began… Enter sound effects… adrenaline-pumping music up… and cue dramatic lighting.
I’ve recently been invited to attend a major launch for a product of a major telco.
Let’s just say they claim this to be the “fastest ever…”. That’s pretty much a giveaway already right there!
I haven’t much to say about it yet since the event is still this Friday… but I expect to be blown away by the product’s speed and performance.
This is good news for those whose “need for speed” cannot be quenched. (Like me!)
More details and an in-depth review in a few days. Be sure to check back every now and then.
Ok… So I haven’t blogged in a while.
Those who have followed my blog would have probably noticed. Much has to do with work (my day job, that is… but we’ll get to that later)… and also thanks to Twitter!
Twitter has pretty much preoccupied the little gaps and openings in-between the usual humdrums of my life. Can you blame me? As the lot of you, I myself was consumed by the ever-addicting, all-engrossing activity that is – TWITTER.
But, I have put my foot down and decided to return to blogging.
I have finally quit my day job. I have decided to return to my first love… acting! Considering how much of my childhood and teenage years were spent in the entertainment industry, I guess it’s just but fitting that I return to it after a good 15 years (Boy, has it been THAT long?!).
So, let’s see… what changes have happened since my last blog post? A whole lot.
I’ve quit my day job (as earlier mentioned), I’ve lost an astonishing 40 pounds and 6” inches from my waistline in 3 months (I’m down to 145 lbs. / 30” waistline) through weight training and a strict diet, and I’ve plotted out concrete steps towards a serious showbiz comeback. I also currently co-host a wonderful radio program called, “Hashtag”, which delves on everything about the internet, social media and technology in the Philippines.
Exciting days ahead, indeed.
I’d like to believe that I’m friendly… Haha! I guess I am… :) I try to respond to each and every tweet I receive. I genuinely enjoy engaging in all sorts of conversations and good banter. So throw me a line, will ya! I don’t bite… (unless you want me too!) LOL! :P
Hashtag can be heard on DZRJ 810 kHz AM every Saturday @ 4pm-6pm. Transistor radio too old school for you? You can also listen online via live streaming over at http://www.tinyurl.com/hashtagradio
