Whether your idea of having fun is getting wet or chilling out, there’s seems to be no shortage of attractions at the Water Park and Snow Park at OneMount.
This incredibly huge and immensely entertaining facility is perfect for kids and adults alike.
During my recent trip to South Korea, the Water Park and Snow Park at OneMount which is located in Goyang City in the Gyeonggi-do province of South Korea were one of the very first stops right after arriving at the airport. Talk about shifting our Korean adventure into full gear right from the get-go, eh!
Basically, OneMount is a new concept of cultural complex space which combines a water park, snow park, a shopping mall and sports club. It is the world’s first sports theme park with global retail brands and trendy shops which fashionistas love visiting. Its shopping mall features numerous shows and cultural events and boasts of a 365-day coexistence with summer and winter.
The Water Park and Snow Park at OneMount – Truly one of a kind
Upon arriving at the Water Park and Snow Park at Onemount, I was particularly looking forward to experiencing snow. I admit, I’m a little kid at heart. So much so that more often than not, my inner child (together with the giggles and random childishness) comes out quite often. This was one particular time I wasn’t going to hold back!
I was told that this is the world’s first theme park covered by snow and ice. Inside the facility, it snows every single day and offers fun activities such as a snow hill, sleds, bikes, an ice road 300m long, a merry-go-round, gaming zone, an awesome winter village, tons of other diverse attractions and so much more.
Entering the Snow Park felt like being teleported to some kind of winter wonderland. Music, captivating lights, a huge floor area and a joyful amount of falling snow. The insanely spacious place offers all sorts of cool activities.
I had tons of fun frolicking in the snow while being careful not to slip and hurt my butt (Don’t worry… I was wearing protective headgear).
I had the opportunity to try my hand at curling for the very first time. Yes, curling!
Imagine that. Before this, the closest I got to curling was merely watching how it’s done on cable television.
Look! A dog sled! I live in a hot and humid tropical country, so no way was I going to pass up on the opportunity to ride this baby and enjoy the pull of these sled dogs as the cold wind blows on my face.
I was so thrilled to be in this place that I just let go of all my inhibitions and fears. I braved one of the Snow Park’s exciting slides. Because, hey… YOLO, right?
Hey, look! I’m an eskimo. Well… sorta!
After a good while of having fun in the cold, I hopped on over to the other side of the theme park to check out where people head off to to enjoy some splish-splashin’ action – the Water Park!
There are also all kinds of fun attractions at OneMount’s Water Park.
Slides and water tunnels that twist and turn from high above the ground, amazing pools with artificial waves, even huge water parks that are perfect for families and friends who want to just kickback and relax.
Unfortunately, not all areas of the Water Park were operating during our visit. But judging on how some of these awesome rides looked, it was no doubt something I could definitely come back for. Check out some of the incredible fun we all could have here…
