They say that you can experience a lot and learn one’s culture by trying out the distinct flavors of a country’s own food.
I absolutely agree. During my various travels in and out of the country, I make it a point to really try out the traditional dishes of any particular place. It is part of my immersion process.
That’s the very reason why when you chance upon a restaurant that serves flavorful authentic cuisine it somehow feels like you’re transported to that particular place.
There are a good number of these places in and around the metro. You just have to know where to find them. One of these restaurants happen to be Wee Nam Kee and their wonderful new dishes during their limited time offer called the United Flavors of Singapore.
United Flavors of Singapore: All New Dishes From Wee Nam Kee
All me to showcase some of the delicious offerings you can indulge in at the United Flavors of Singapore: All New Dishes From Wee Nam Kee.
Singaporean Beef Noodles
I’m not really a fan of asian noodle dishes but, hey, there’s always an exception, right? This traditional Chinese noodle soup dish is something I can truly get along with. Just imagine… deliciously fork tender beef brisket, crisp Taiwan pechay and flavorful straw mushrooms. A perfect way to start of your United Flavors of Singapore: All New Dishes From Wee Nam Kee journey! Can’t get enough of that soup? No problem. This dish comes with extra broth that you can pour over the noodles for some extended slurping action. Yum!
Bak Kut Teh’
Sounds like a Filipino phrase (“Bakit, ate?”)? LOL! Actually Bak Kut Teh’ means “meat bone tea” in English although it doesn’t really have dried leaves in it, nor does it have any kind of tea. It actually is a hearty soup meal that contains pork ribs, black mushrooms, tofu, and garlic. It has bold and complex flavors coming from the soft pork meat that’s been simmered in a broth of herbs and spices. Wow. Quite the winner, eh?
What? Beef Rendang? Isn’t that an Indonesian dish? Well, actually, Beef Rendang is an “adopted” culinary son of Singapore. It’s just an explosion of flavors with every spoonful. It’s the perfect dish for people who like their food rich, creamy and ooohlala hot. You’ll notice that with every bite, a slow biting zing builds up inside your mouth that just screams, “more rice!” Hahaha! Don’t forget to try this out when you come over to experience the United Flavors of Singapore: All New Dishes From Wee Nam Kee.
That’s just some of the flavorful delights that are most definitely worth your visit. So, go ahead and be amazed at how some dishes can seemingly immerse your senses one bite at a time at the United Flavors of Singapore: All New Dishes From Wee Nam Kee.
