I’m not really a fan of asian noodle dishes but, hey, there’s always an exception, right? This traditional Chinese noodle soup dish is something I can truly get along with. Just imagineā€¦ deliciously fork tender beef brisket, crisp Taiwan pechay and flavorful straw mushrooms. Bak Kut Teh’

Sounds like a Filipino phrase (“Bakit, ate?”)? LOL! Actually Bak Kut Teh’ means “meat bone tea” in English although it doesn’t really have dried leaves in it, nor does it have any kind of tea. It actually is a hearty soup meal that contains pork ribs, black mushrooms, tofu, and garlic. It has bold and complex flavors coming from the soft pork meat that’s been simmered in a broth of herbs and spices. Wow. Quite the winner, eh?

Beef Rendang

What? Beef Rendang? Isn’t that an Indonesian dish? Well, actually, Beef Rendang is an “adopted” culinary son of Singapore. It’s just an explosion of flavors with every spoonful. It’s the perfect dish for people who like their food rich, creamy and ooohlala hot. You’ll notice that with every bite, a slow biting zing builds up inside your mouth that just screams, “more rice!” Hahaha!
