GCash to Globe Rewards Points – It’s possible!

I absolutely love being able to stretch my budget by using my Globe Rewards points. I’ve used it a couple of times already to pay for food in establishments like Figaro, Wendy’s and KFC. I’ve also used my points to gas up at Petron more than once.

It’s a real lifesaver.

But using it often also means that my Globe Rewards points run out faster than usual. Arrrgh!

There are a couple of really cool movies this week which I’d like to see… like “The Hobbit – The Desolation of Smaug”. During times like these, using Globe Rewards to purchase tickets is always my first option. But upon checking, it seems my points aren’t enough to score me a couple of seats to this really awesome movie. Noooooooo!

There have been quite a number of times when I wished I could buy movie tickets and other stuff using my Rewards points but couldn’t because didn’t have enough of them. Sigh…

There was really nothing I could do back then – Running out of Globe Rewards points means having no choice but to shell out real cash instead.

But like I said… that was “back then”. Everything’s different NOW. Thank God!

Starting today (December 11, 2013) until January 30, 2014, I can easily convert my GCash to Globe Rewards points! And since I’ve always been an avid user of GCash, I am really thrilled about this new offering! Yay!

GCash to Globe Rewards

It actually makes perfect sense since I always have my GCash account loaded. Anytime I’m in shortage of Rewards points, I’ve got GCash to save the day with only a few clicks of a button.

You know what that means? It means that YOU can also convert your own GCash to Globe Rewards points just as easily!

The conversion rate is equally awesome as well… 25 GCash = 20 Globe Rewards points. Basically, Php 5.00 of your 25 GCash is used as transaction fee. Not bad, right?

If you wanna know how I was able to easily convert my GCash to Globe Rewards points, check out the simple step by step procedure below:

  • STEP 1: Dial *143# using your Globe or TM SIM.
  • STEP 2: Choose GCash > Buy Stuff > Convert 25 GCash to 20 Globe Rewards Points to self
  • STEP 3: Enter your 4-digit GCash MPIN (4-digit).
  • STEP 4: Press 1 OK to confirm transaction.
  • STEP 5: Wait for an SMS confirmation which will be sent to your GCash mobile number.
  • STEP 6: Receive SMS notification once points are seeded

I was also able to convert GCash to Globe Rewards points via SMS. All I had to do was to type CONVERT <SPACE> 25 <SPACE> <4-DIGIT GCASH MPIN>” and send it to 2261.

An SMS notification will confirm if your transaction is successful.

So if, for example, I needed 100 Globe Rewards points from my GCash, all I’d have to do is run through the procedure five (5) times.

Globe Rewards points are updated/seeded the next working day. So, what you can do is check your Globe Rewards points balance in advance to see if you need more converted from your GCash account. It’s easy to check your Globe Rewards points balance via *143# > My Rewards > Check point balance> Total Available points or you can simply text BAL to 4438. You can also check balance via Globe Rewards Mobile App (P1/transaction applies to Prepaid and TM subscribers. Transaction fee is free of charge for postpaid subscribers.)

Checking your GCash balance is just as easy, too. You can check your GCash balance via USSD or GCash Mobile App for FREE. You can also check via *143# > GCash> Account > Check Balance > Enter 4-digit MPIN (4-digit). You can also download the GCash Mobile App for FREE > Enter 4-digit GCash MPIN > Check current balance.

Oh, happy joy! It appears fate is smiling down on me right now.

Because of this new GCash to Globe Rewards Points feature, it seems that my movie fix will not have to be put on hold. Wheeeee!

See you at the movies, everyone… (or anywhere else Globe Rewards points are honored)!
