I’m so excited! One of my most awaited shows on Netflix is finally out — Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events! As soon as the this new series was teased online, I immediately added it to my personal list on my Netflix account so I could get notified as soon as the show is available for watching.
Netflix is just incredible! It’s pretty much all I ever spend my free late night evenings doing because this service has already established itself as a purveyor of quality shows. Through the years, the global internet television network has produced award-winning TV series and favorites such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, and The Crown.
Philippines AirAsia has officially appointed Captain Dexter Comendador as president and chief executive officer effective 10 January 2017.
I’ve had the pleasure of being with Captain Dexter Comendador — or “Captain Dex”, as we fondly call him — on a good number of trips. The most recent of these trips was during the launch of the MNL-TPE direct flights in Taipei just back in November of last year. I first met him during the welcome ceremony of the AirAsia Airbus A320neo in Malaysia.
Always a fun guy to be with, Captain Dex is consistently ready with interesting stories which he would happily share with everyone over coffee and a good meal.
People are always caught up in the never ending search for convenience — the endless pursuit of making our lives easier and less tiresome. That’s why we now enjoy some of the most incredible innovations such as online shopping, instant messaging, smartphones and, yes… even convenience stores.
Now, if you’re one of the countless Filipinos who regularly brave the daily commute, finding ways to make traveling from point A to point B less of a hassle is most certainly a welcome thing.
And since we’re on the topic of convenience, you’ve probably already heard of this little thing called the BEEP CARD.
Optimism is a wonderful thing. Just like us Filipinos, it is also an intrinsic American value. It is a spirit open to anyone and everyone willing to try. What characterizes America’s past and how it looks to the future is the unshakable belief that anything is possible.
Beringer, for its part, is an iconic American brand — not just a name on a bottle. It is much more than just a winery. It is an authentic brand filled with the spirit of American optimism, of hope and dedication. Confidence and perseverance. It is consistent, trusted and respected, both forward looking and extremely proud of its evolving legacy.
I love to travel. It’s just one of those things that I truly look forward to, whether the journey is near or far.
The past few years have been especially good to me in terms of travel and adventure. I’ve been blessed to have had the opportunity to see new places far and wide — and I continue to enjoy these wonderful escapes which I happily share and recount to all my readers through my blog.
One thing that sometimes becomes a difficulty when going on a trip, which I’m sure frequent travelers would agree to, is carrying a ton of items and clothes. But it only becomes a burden when one chooses the wrong kind of bag to use.
I love bags that can carry a whole lot of stuff yet can be brought along with ease and comfort. Normally, I’d go for a backpack since it frees up both my hands to do other things. But during trips that require me to be away longer, a regular backpack wouldn’t suffice. During these instances, I normally depend on a trolley or a duffel bag. But, trolleys, especially the bigger ones, usually need checking-in, while duffel bags are a strain on the shoulders and hands after long periods of carrying.
Thankfully, I found the answer not too long ago.
It’s called the Venque Duffel Pack 1.0.
Every now and then I’d like to surprise myself by using a variety of smartphones which I consider to be standouts in the market. It’s a great way to gauge the development of technology and the beauty of competition. One particular standout that I have recently started playing with up until now and couldn’t get […]
Storage, storage, storage. It’s one thing that we gadget geeks can never get enough of. Well, that and battery power of course. Here’s the thing folks… as our devices get better and better and as the cameras of our smartphones are constantly upgraded with better sensors and higher megapixel capabilities, the file sizes of our […]

Genetic testing as a means to have the edge in the fight against cancer has always been very expensive. But not anymore with the help of Asia Genomics.
Choosing the right brand of contact lens is just as important as using them. That’s why when we had to get one for our daughter, we only trusted Air Optix.
Destressing normally needs a good amount of distraction to take your mind away from the usual concerns of everyday life. Now, how one destresses really varies from person to person. My usual and preferred way of relaxation is hitting the gym to lift a few weights and do a couple of laps on the treadmill […]
When my wife and I go out to enjoy each other’s company over good food, it doesn’t necessarily mean finding a restaurant where we could both have a significantly heavy meal. Sometimes, finding the right spot with the right ambiance and a couple of snacks is enough. That’s why when we visited Marco Polo Ortigas […]
The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name “Matabungkay” is childhood memories. If you are more or less my age, living in the Philippines back in the ’80s and early ’90s, it is quite impossible not to know Matabungkay Beach Club. It is one of the most popular and notable destination […]
A celebration of American optimism through a wonderful selection of Beringer wines was held at the M Cafe in Makati to the delight of sommeliers and guests.
Feed your inner geek by checking out the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story mural which was recently unveiled at the Sky Dome of SM North Edsa! It’s awesome!
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I couldn’t help but recall this saying as I quietly observe the latest developments on the ongoing (and never ending) telco war. As of late, I just noticed that Sun Cellular has been quite forward on its attacks against Globe Telecom. They seem to have been making not-so-subtle snipes […]
I recently had a short but very sweet staycation down south at Acacia Hotel Manila. It was my first time to experience this fairly established fixture right smack at the heart of Alabang, Muntinlupa City. And since staycations always make me feel like a kid again, this particular occasion was no different. I was just as […]
There is a reason why “Shelter” is one of the three basic (and important) human needs with “food” and “clothing” being the other two. Apart from the obvious reason of providing protection from the weather, shelter gives tangibility to a person’s notion of a home – a physical manifestation, so to speak. It is a […]
News flash! Captain Dexter Comendador has officially been appointed President and CEO of Philippines AirAsia. Find out why he’s the right man for the job.
I finally found a bag that meets the demands of long trips yet can be easily brought along without having to check it in. It’s called the Venque Duffel 1.0.
And the awards and recognition just keep on coming! As a testament to their dedication and pursuit of excellence, AirAsia has been named World’s Leading Low-Cost Airline for the fourth year in a row at the 23rd World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final in Malé, Maldives. Winning the award four years straight is no small […]
I’m a huge fan of Grab. Whether it’s GrabCar, GrabTaxi, GrabExpress, GrabBike or GrabHeli. There really is no downside to any of Grab’s services and I’m sure those who have also experienced its convenience will easily agree with me. In case you’re one of those who still take the cab more often than GrabTaxi, allow […]
